Pumpkin Patch - October 2009

Whenever Chari and Jake come to visit, we try to get together with my friend Alison and her son, Ethen, so that the boys can play. Last month, we all visited a pumpkin patch in Corona. The only "ride" we all could enjoy together was the petting zoo. Here are some of the best pictures of the night...
Jake posing very nicely with an oddly calm goat.

Ethen enjoyed chasing the ducks. =)

This is what being a mom is all about...following your child around with a camera. Isn't it cute how their outfits match with their little one! I only noticed it when I was going through the pictures, but I thought it was cute. I wonder if they planned it, or if it's one of those mom things!

Jake and Chari being adventurous on a tractor ride.

Alison and Ethen. =)

Ethen trying out pumpkins to find the best one.

Cherise's Mom's Barbeque - We're so happy she's feeling better!

Me, Rachie, and Chari!

Our close-up! =)

What a cute family!

The next day at breakfast. So cute, and so happy to be with his Auntie Danielle in California. (Hint, Hint)

All of us, minus Scott who's taking the picture. =)

I found pictures from Chari's Birthday Trip to Disneyland!

The birthday girl and me!

Jakey's very 1st ride on his very 1st trip to Disneyland - It's a Small World!

The other birthday girl and me!

My very favorite picture from the whole day...isn't he adorable! =)

I would say this was Jakey's favorite ride. He insisted we ride it again when we walked past it later in the day.

He's gonna be a great driver someday with all of his practice!

Cherise and me with Mickey.

A happy Chari, Scott, and a not so happy Jakey with Mickey Mouse.

Scott, Jake, and I headed off to find a place for dinner. Jakey had other plans.

Our last ride of the night.

We all had a really great time all day long, and this picture goes to prove it...this is the last one of the night, just as the park is closing...and even Jake is smiling! =)

A little late, but in honor of Veteran's Day...

I think Veteran's Day is such a well deserved holiday, but it is unfortunate that it is often unnoticed and unappreciated except for it being the cause of a three day weekend. It's a day to appreciate their service and sacrifices they have made for our great country, protecting our freedoms and keeping us all safe at home. Thank you to all of our service members past and present for your service!

I came across this quote and I just wanted to share it...

A Troop/Veteran, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'

My Husband is Almost Home!!!

It's been over a year since Ryan deployed last November and the time has finally come for him to come home! In less than two weeks, as long as the Army doesn't mess this up for me, Ryan will be back in my arms again. We are both so excited! Hopefully this will be the last time we are apart for a very, very long time. This is a picture from last November when we took family portraits while he was home on Thanksgiving leave. It's one of my favorites! (And, it reminds me of us being together for the holidays!) We were really lucky that despite a thirteen month deployment, we were able to spend Thanksgiving, Christmas, and our first anniversary together, and to top it off...he won't be missing anymore holidays starting November 18, 2009! That might just be the best part. =)
